#SAVEVOA campaign launched
Journalists of the Voice of America are speaking out after being silenced on the airwaves.
I am joining lawsuit plaintiffs Patsy Widakuswara (VOA’s White House bureau chief) and Jessica Jerreat (VOA’s press freedom editor) in a just-launched high-profile social media campaign to bring attention to the plight of our 1,300+ colleagues at the Voice of America who are no longer allowed to report the news and to ensure that our stakeholders, the American people, are aware that our mandated mission has been ruthlessly destroyed, in defiance of the U.S. Congress.
Our radio transmitters and satellite TV transponders, part of the infrastructure to reach our audience of 360 million listeners and viewers around the world, may have been switched off but we will not be silenced.
You can support our most vulnerable colleagues here.
